Elements of Effective E-book Cover Design

Welcome to your Ebook Cover design course. New lessons will be appearing weekly. Most text-based lessons will be available by December 1. Audio lessons and Video lessons will be appearing weekly. We have exercises for each less. To make it easier to share those in a group context we have set up a Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/covercourse/

This is a closed group, Just request to join and when I verify your student status, I will admit you. This way we keep down problems with spam.

Exercise:

One of the best ways to learn is by doing. We are going to have some exercises that will help you put into practice what you are learning. By sharing with others we can help each other. I will also post my comments here so everyone can learn. But to get started let's just list a few things about the project you will be doing.

  • Title
  • Subtitle (if any)
  • Series (if any)
  • Subject (nonfiction)
  • Genre (fiction)
  • Overall mood of the book (exciting, adventurous, whisical, gentle, dark, etc)
  • Preliminary ideas about a cover. (Subject to change, of course.)

Note: If you don't have an actual work in progress, you can either make up a book or do a new cover for a famous book like Tom Sawyer or Pride and Prejudice.
